MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Badger football team will face its toughest test of the season this weekend in Lincoln, NE when they take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big Ten opener.
The good news is their Heisman trophy finalist in the backfield will play.
Senior running back Montee Ball has been cleared to play. He missed most of the game against UTEP after he was knocked out with a concussion.
But he passed all the tests and wore a green no-contact jersey this week.
"Montee got out there and practiced today," said head coach Bret Bielema. "He has been cleared - 100 percent full go - and looked good out there the last rep of practice."
"To have three running backs you feel strongly about is a good thing and I thought this was a great week," said Bielema. "Guys had a good Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. I thought it was the best work week we have had since the season kicked in, and I am excited about the way they handled that, so I am excited to get to the weekend."
The Badgers play the Cornhuskers Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Lincoln.
