Badgers Women fall at Minnesota

Gophers win 53rd game in a row

MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 4-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team lost 2-1 at Minnesota Saturday afternoon at Ridder Arena.

The Badgersheld the Golden Gophers scoreless for the first two periods thanks to team captain, and goalie, Alex Rigsby. Rigsby made 19 of her 31 saves in the first two periods to keep Minnesota scoreless.

In the third, Minnesota lit the lamp again as Kelly Terry scored her first goal of the season.

Moments later, it looked like Sydney McKibbon's shot found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed.

Minnesota scored their second goal of the game with less than seven minutes remaining as Terry netted her second goal of the game.

In the final period, UW was outshot 14-5.
