MADISON -

The Wisconsin Badger football team is ranked 22nd in the Associated Press pre-season college football poll released Thursday.

Defending national champion Florida State is first with Rose Bowl champion Michigan State third.

The Badgers are coming off a 9-4 season with a loss to South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl.

Wisconsin will have its season opener at HRG Stadium in Houston August 30 against LSU.
