Illinois' second half run stops Badger women's basketball
Penn's 26 points, 14 rebounds lead Illini
Karisma Penn scored 26 points and had 14 rebounds as Illinois defeated Wisconsin 60-53 in a Big Ten women's basketball game in Champaign Monday night.
Wisconsin trailed 31-22, but rallied to within three points midway through the second half but Illinois then went on an 11-0 run.
Nicole Bauman and Morgan Paige led the Badgers with 14 points teach. Jacki Gulczynski was held to four points- her lowest total since November 18th.
Illinois forced 27 Wisconsin turnovers including 17 steals.
Illinois is now 8-4 in the Big Ten and 15-9 overall. Wisconsin falls to 3-10 in the conference and 11-15 overall.
The Badgers next game is Saturday when they play at Northwestern at noon.
