It's been a roller coaster couple of weeks for Badger junior guard Josh Gasser.

He met President Obama on a recent visit to Madison. Last Thursday, head coach Bo Ryan announced Gasser would be the Badgers' point guard this season.

But in practice Saturday, Gasser tore his ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of this season.

Gasser will have a medical redshirt year and still have two years of eligibility remaining..

"I pretty much worked my tail off to get to that position and got rewarded, Coach Ryan rewarded me with it and it happened so it's definitely  - you know I think the biggest thing is, I've built such a great relationship with the seniors, Jared, Mike, Ryan especially" Gasser said.

"This is their last go-around and not to be out there with them, it's killing me, but I know I've got two years left and they only have one, so I don't get to help them out  so that's the frustrating part."
