Dani Cameranesi's goal at 9:02 of the third period gave the number one ranked Minnesota Golden Gopher women's hockey team a 3-2 win over second ranked Wisconsin at LaBahn Arena Friday night.
Brittany Ammerman scored the first goal of the night on a power play at 8:37 of the first period.
Minnesota's Rachael Bona got her 20th goal of the season in the second period as the Gophers tied it, 1-1.
In the third period, Minnesota's Milica McMillen put the Gophers back in front with a power play goal, but Wisconsin's Blayre Turnbull tied it with an unassisted goal at the 5:18 mark.
But four minutes later, Cameranesi got the game winner on assists by Rachel Ramsey and Bethany Brausen and the Gophers held on to beat Wisconsin for the third time this season..
Minnesota outshot Wisconsin 33-23 in front of a sellout crown of 2,273.
Saturday night, Minnesota and Wisconsin play at the Kohl Center in the annual "Fill the Bowl" game. That game is also sold out and the expected crowd of over 15,000 will break the NCAA record for attendance at a women's college hockey game.
