Kelley Hardwick filed a lawsuit in State Supreme Court in Manhattan alleging coach Geno Auriemma was behind her discriminatory removal as the top security official from the United States women's basketball team, according to a report in the New York Times.

Auriemma, the lawsuit claims, followed, grabbed and attempted to kiss Hardwick at a hotel during a basketball tournament in Russia in 2009. When she pushed away, Hardwick said Auriemma decided to retaliate by demanding the NBA remove Hardwick as the top security official for the 2012 London Olympics. Hardwick served in that role in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008.

Harwick provided a list of witnesses who knew about the encounter but claims none of them were interviewed by the league's general counsel.

In the story published Monday, Auriemma declined comment via email.
