Padres 2, Reds 1: Chase Headley homered with two outs in the top of the ninth inning as visiting San Diego edged Cincinnati in the opener of a three-game series.Headley smacked a 1-1 offering from Aroldis Chapman (0-1) into the left-field bleachers as the Padres won their fourth consecutive game. Joaquin Benoit (1-0) worked a scoreless eighth inning and Huston Street struck out two while retiring the side in order in the ninth for his 12th save.Chapman entered after Mike Leake limited San Diego to one run and two hits over eight innings. Padres starter Andrew Cashner also put together a strong outing and allowed one run and seven hits in seven innings.Cincinnati struck in the first when Billy Hamilton tripled and scored two batters later on Brandon Phillips' single to right. San Diego tied the score in the fourth when Seth Smith doubled, moved to third on a grounder and came in on Jedd Gyorko's fly to right. Smith had two of San Diego's three hits, while Phillips was 3-for-4 for Cincinnati.
