There are 25 days left before the 2014 Daytona 500; hence, the number for today is:

25: The car number driven by the late Tim Richmond to win nine races for Hendrick Motorsports from 1986 through 1987. In fact, Richmond is the most prolific winner in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with the No. 25, which has started 1,314 NASCAR Sprint Cup races (16th most all-time) and recorded 21 victories.

The two most recent winners in the No. 25 are Brian Vickers (2006 at Talladega) and Casey Mears (2007 at Charlotte). A car numbered 25 has never won the Daytona 500, though Richmond took the checkered flag in the 1986 July race at the Birthplace of Speed.
