For most NFL fans, the name David Clowney might not sound familiar.

The Buffalo Bills wide receiver quickly became a household name this week after he tweeted a picture of his HIV test results.

"Got My HIV Results Back!! Thank God for keeping my body healthy and safe," the 26-year-old NFL veteran posted on Tuesday.

After sharing his results with his Twitter followers, Clowney's post quickly became the subject of criticism and debate.

Clowney claimed he had good intentions in mind when he revealed -- what some people would consider -- intimate details of his personal life.

Clowney sent out a follow-up Tweet: "Some people are Ridiculously stupid,.. And can't see the bigger picture about things that are important in this world!!" he wrote. "Everyone should get tested!! ,.. Don't wait till HIV/AIDS Awareness Day to find out if you have it or not!! I'm never the type to let things get to me,. But it bothers the hell out of me to know people make jokes about AIDS AND HIV!!!!"

If anything, Clowney gave fantasy football participants some extra information about his health status for the upcoming season.
