One win against Michigan on Saturday or Sunday would tie the University of Wisconsin Badgers women’s softball team’s single-season record with 34 wins.
Not many people around the Big Ten conference thought Wisconsin would be battling for a title.
“I think we're an underdog team and they really embrace that,” said Badger softball head coach Yvette Healy. “So to be one game out, that's where you really want to be. Going into the last two weekends to have a shot at it, that's all you can ask for your team. So we're in a great position. We’re still the underdog and you've got to face the best, but I think that's what we want to be doing right now.”
Wisconsin has three games against the conference’s first-place Michigan at Goodman Diamond over the weekend.
“We're really working together as a team you know, all coming together, playing our role so everyone on the team is basically contributing and all come together, hit the ball, field the ball, all around,” Healy said.
