The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has hired a lawyer to investigate a complaint against men's basketball coach Brian Wardle.
Attorney Joseph Nicks will lead the investigation. He told The Associated Press on Monday he plans to start quickly and conduct a fair analysis. He says he can't speculate on how long it will take.
The school announced the investigation last week after the parents of a former center wrote a letter alleging their son was mistreated. The school and the family have declined to release the letter or reveal the basis for the allegations.
Wardle released a statement through the school saying he'll support the process and won't comment further.
The center and three other players have left the basketball program since mid-February. One said he had "differences" with Wardle.
