Booker Stanley Faces Battery Charges

MADISON, Wis. -- A Badger running back faces battery charges after his night of partying at the Mifflin Street block party, and two others face alcohol-related charges.Booker Stanley, 22, (pictured in a photo obtained by News 3) faces two counts of battery and one count each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.Stanley was arrested after a fight late Saturday afternoon.Stanley's first court date is Thursday morning. He has been suspended from the football team under the UW student-athlete discipline policy.Nikki Burish, a member of the Badger women's hockey team, and Daniel Kaye, another football player, were ticketed for alcohol violations.Burish and Kaye are not being suspended under the discipline code.A UW spokesman told News 3 that student athletes are subject to the code only when violations involve violence, drugs or gambling.
