Uecker Back In Booth For Brewers

Radio Return Special For Hall-Of-Famer

Updated: 11:32 am CDT July 24, 2010

Bob Uecker joked that his doctors let him come back to the broadcast booth on Friday night because he promised they could throw out the ceremonial first pitch before a Brewers game.

The 75-year-old, who had heart surgery April 30, returned to the broadcast booth for the game against Washington.

"I feel really good, real good, otherwise I wouldn't have come back and worked," said Uecker. "The doctors kind of said ok, but they knew I was coming back anyway so there was nothing they could do."

Uecker held a 30-minute news conference on Friday to discuss the return to the job he loves and missed.
