Wisconsin Ranks No. 11 In AP Poll

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin men's basketball team moved up five spots to No. 11 in The Associated Press weekly rankings released Monday. The Badgers are No. 13 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll.The Badgers are 18-5 overall and are still in the race for the Big Ten title. Michigan state's conference lead is down to just one game with seven games left in the regular season. The Badgers, Illinois and Ohio State are all at 8-3 in conference. The Spartans are 9-2."First of all, No. 1 (in the Big Ten) through No. 11 can beat you," said Ryan. "But as far as for the conference race, six are still there. It's hard to win in any league especially the Big Ten."The Badgers defeated then-No. 5 Michigan State last week as well as Michigan. The Spartans of Michigan State dropped five rankings to one spot above Wisconsin at No. 10.Wisconsin plays host to Illinois on Tuesday. Indiana comes to town on Saturday.
