Packers' Lineman Indicted On Drug Charge

Jolly Says He Is Innocent

Updated: 1:36 pm CST December 16, 2009

Green Bay Packers defensive end Johnny Jolly has been indicted for a second time by a Texas grand jury on a felony drug charge that he illegally possessed at least 200 grams of codeine.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and the Green Bay Press Gazette report that Jolly, 26, whose hometown is Houston, was indicted by a Harris County grand jury Tuesday.

In July, prosecutors dismissed the charge against him, but said they expected to refile the case.

A Harris County District Attorney's Office spokeswoman said at the time that the case was dismissed so lab technicians could become proficient with a new piece of equipment that measures codeine.

Jolly told the Journal Sentinel in June that he was innocent.

A call to his attorney was not immediately returned.
