GAME NOTES: Back in action for a second straight night, the Cal Poly Mustangs now take on the Wisconsin Badgers in non-conference play at the Kohl Center in Madison.

Following a nine day layoff, the Mustangs returned to action just last night and picked up a 73-66 victory at South Dakota State. It was the first win in six road outings for Cal Poly, which has won three straight overall following an 0-5 start to the season.

As for the Badgers, they jump-started a five-game homestand on Saturday, netting a 72-63 win over Marquette. Despite the win, Wisconsin was dropped from the Top 25 due to an 88-84 overtime loss at Wisconsin-Green Bay earlier in the week. Still, the Badgers are a solid 7-2 overall and that mark includes a perfect 5-0 showing at home.

Tonight's game marks the first-ever meeting between Wisconsin and Cal Poly on the hardwood.

The Mustangs shot a sound 48.3 percent from the floor and made good on 7-of-16 buckets from long distance, as they clipped SDSU last night. Cal Poly also had its way in the paint, where it outscored SDSU, 26-10, and won the battle on the boards, 41-31. Lorenzo Keeler led the way with 21 points, while Kyle Odister finished with 17 points of his own. Will Donahue got involved as well, notching a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. For the season, Keeler leads the squad in scoring with an average of 13.4 ppg, and Donahue turns in 11.9 ppg and a team-best 8.8 rpg.

The Badgers hit on 44.2 percent of their tries from the field and 23-of-33 at the foul line, as they defeated Marquette over the weekend. Wisconsin also did a nice job of protecting the ball, committing just seven turnovers in the game. Jon Leuer headed the charge with a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Trevon Hughes and Jordan Taylor each had 13 points. Hughes currently leads the club in scoring with an average of 17.4 ppg and he is also top the squad with 15 steals. Leuer checks in with 16.3 ppg and a team-high 6.3 rpg, while Jason Bohannon contributes 10.0 ppg.

Wisconsin is the clear choice here and it should have little trouble getting past a Cal Poly squad that was in action just last night.

Predicted Outcome

Wisconsin 84, Cal Poly 63
