Channel 3000GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The old adage, especially in football, is one game at a time. The Green Bay Packers are hoping that approach they will be able to stack success up so high, it propels them into the playoffs. Holding true to the cliché, the Packers' players and coaches are talking turkey and turkey only."This is a tough football game to play in," said coach Mike McCarthy. "Let's make no mistake about it. I was just talking to Nick Barnett about it before practice. Anytime that you come into this Thanksgiving game, you're the visitor. This is the fourth one that I've had the opportunity to play in. This is a playoff-type atmosphere. It's a national TV game. Everybody is watching it, so this will be a tough, hard-fought game. It always is."Don't forget last week's game for Detroit. On paper it looked like a stinker, but the Lions beat Cleveland in the final seconds thanks to the arm of rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford."I think you have to be impressed with what Matthew Stafford did this past week," McCarthy said. "It's a big win for Detroit, especially coming from behind the way they did. I think anytime a young quarterback can have success and overcome a tough situation like he did will give him and his team a lot of confidence."Stafford and star receiver Calvin Johnson have both missed practice during the short week and both could miss Thursday's game, but the Packers are focusing on themselves."This is a game we definitely need to win," said Packers receiver Greg Jennings. "Then we need the break. We got some guys banged up. The playoffs take care of itself, if we do what we need to do.""We know what December holds, four straight outdoor cold games," said quarterback Aaron Rodgers. "And we're going to enjoy this indoor game and hopefully get to 7-4."Green Bay shut out the Lions on Oct. 18 at Lambeau Field 26-0."They are a totally different team," said Jennings. "We're a totally different team now. We can't dwell on the past. We have to take some of the things we did well in that game and hopefully we'll be able to do it again."
