GREEN BAY, Wis. -- When you think about the Green Bay Packers offense, you think about quarterback Aaron Rodgers finding Donald Driver over the middle or hitting Greg Jennings in stride for a long touchdown. But, this year's Packers appear to have found some balance.

"We like the way we're running the football," said Mike McCarthy. "We have been productive and I just think, as always, the opportunity to be balanced gives us our best chance to be explosive with our offense."

In 2008, the Packers averaged 112.8 rushing yards per game. They finished the season No. 17 in the league. Through 10 games in 2009, the Green Bay is averaging 123 yards per game, good for No. 11 in the league.

Despite some offensive line concerns the Packers were able to close out the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday thanks to the running game.

With 5:56 left in the game the Packers mounted a 10 play drive that included two first downs, and 34 yards rushing.

"I think the confidence was displayed in the play selection. We ran the football and really ran it for four quarters, and that's probably a big part of it," said McCarthy. "I think we had the ball for 22 minutes in the first half and we would have liked to run the ball a little bit more efficiently in the third quarter. But I can't say enough once again for the guys up front, and I thought the backs did a great job protecting the football."

"We're going to focus on doing whatever it takes to win games and then with that approach we're going to focus on improving," McCarthy said. "So, that's been my approach since I first took the job."
