Los Angeles, CA -- (Sports Network) - Al Thornton scored 31 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to guide the Los Angeles Clippers over Minnesota, 91-87, sending the Timberwolves to their 13th straight loss.Marcus Camby chipped in 12 points and 18 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won two in a row. Baron Davis went just 1-of-10 from the field and finished with two points, but it was a huge bucket - a game-sealing layup with 8.5 seconds remaining. "That was a tough game all around for us tonight," said Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy. "Al carried us most of the night and then our defense shut them down in the fourth quarter." Sebastian Telfair tallied 17 points and Chris Kaman 15 for Los Angeles. Al Jefferson had 13 points and 13 rebounds, but also committed eight of Minnesota's 21 turnovers. The last one was huge, a traveling call with 29.1 seconds left, as the 1-13 Timberwolves equaled their worst start in franchise history, tying the 1994-95 team. Minnesota's longest losing streak is 16 games. "We tried to do too much on our own and that's when we get into trouble," said Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis. "It's youth and inexperience. They want to do too much." Jonny Flynn scored 17, while Ryan Gomes had 15 for Minnesota. Thornton's tip-in extended LA's lead to 89-84 with 1:12 left, but a Gomes three-pointer had the visitors within a bucket with 1:05 left. The Timberwolves then got a gift as the Clippers failed to get a shot off in the allotted 24 seconds, but Jefferson traveled while pivoting in the lane toward the basket. Davis then breezed by Ramon Sessions for the clinching layup. Minnesota held a 29-28 edge after the opening 12 minutes and held a 51-48 edge at the break. It remained tight throughout the third with the Clippers trailing 73-72 moving to the fourth. Game Notes Minnesota will try to avoid its worst start in franchise annals on Wednesday with a home game against Denver. The 1994-95 Timberwolves won game No. 15 that season...LA went 2-of-14 from three-point range...Thornton finished 11-of-16 from the field and made all nine of his foul shots.
