Former Badger Bounces Back After Being Cut

Chambers Scores Twice For New Team

Updated: 2:37 pm CST November 9, 2009

Former Wisconsin Badger wide receiver Chris Chambers capped off a wild week with a pair of touchdown catches.

Chambers was released by San Diego on Monday, was claimed off of waivers by Kansas City, joining the team on Wednesday and caught two touchdowns for the Chiefs Sunday against Jacksonville.

Chambers said learning a new offense in a short time was no big deal because "everybody runs the same stuff."

The San Diego Chargers said they released Chambers because of the emergence of Malcom Floyd and the need to sign a linebacker because of an injury to Tim Dobbins.

Since another team claimed Chambers, the Chargers do not have to pay the $2.25 million they owe him.

Chambers was acquired at the trading deadline in 2007 from Miami for a second-round draft pick.
