McCarthy Shows Frustration Over Sacks

Packers Offensive Line Injuries Continue

Bad news turned worse for the Green Bay Packers offensive line. One day after placing Jason Spitz on the injured reserve list, which means he's out for the season, former Badger Mark Tauscher left the game with after aggravating his surgically repaired knee.

"You can't sit here and keep taking sacks," said McCarthy. "I'm sure you're tired of asking the question; I'm tired of talking about it. That's a reflection of coaching and playing. It's something that's been coached, something that's been trained, and it keeps showing up on Sundays."

The Packers have given up a league-high 37 sacks on the season. Rodgers came into the game banged up with a sore foot and a sore toe, but the optimistic fan was quick to point out that for the first time this season he had familiar faces on the line. Tauscher and Chad Clifton both returned to the lineup, but that wasn't enough to slow down the rush of the Bucs.

"You look at Tampa Bay's quotes all week, that's all they talked about was sacking the quarterback, and it happened again," McCarthy said. "It has to end. We cannot continue to have the numbers that we have in the sacks. The other part of it too, I thought he had plenty of time to throw. I'm real curious to see the film because either they're doing a hell of a job covering us. There is time and time again that our receivers, on crossing routes versus that coverage, I'll be curious to see what the film looks like."
