MADISON, Wis. -- Preseason WCHA polling put the Wisconsin Badgers and Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey teams near the top of the conference, but early into the season the two teams are to a slow start.

Minnesota's conference record (2-3-1) is two points higher in the standings than Wisconsin (1-2-1). Wisconsin has played two fewer games in conference. The Badgers defeated New Hampshire twice last weekend.

The Badgers currently own a two-game winning streak against the Gophers. The Badgers have not won more than two games in a row against the Badgers since 2000.
