Lambeau Field Memories Not Top Of Mind

MADISON, Wis. -- "[There's] been a lot of great games in general, new stadium, old stadium," Favre said.Brett Favre will make consecutive start No. 277 on Sunday at Lambeau Field. He's played many of those games in Green Bay, but this one will be different. Favre will be a visitor in Green Bay for the first time, but he said that's not his focus."This is one of 16 and we need to win it and go into the bye week regroup and get healthy," Favre said.Mike McCarthy said the return will be more personal for Favre and fans than the players on his team."I'm very comfortable where we are today as a football team," said McCarthy. "It seems like he's happy over there in Minnesota. That's really my focus. As far as his situation over there, and if he's happy, that's great. But going back to that time for everybody, really in my view it has nothing to do with today's game, or Sunday's game."Favre said he believes the first game against the Packers at the Metrodome will reduce some of the nerves he might feel."Yes, going back to Lambeau where it all started, I'm well aware of that," said Favre. "And that's part of the thinking about how I feel from an emotional standpoint about this week in general. That's kind of out of the way. The way they're playing and the way we're playing, both teams are fighting for the top spot. That's the only thing that is important to be quite honest with you."The Packers host the Vikings Sunday at 3:15 p.m.
