Border Battle A Visit Back Home For Some

Tickets Tough To Come By For Minnesota Natives

Updated: 11:31 am CDT October 1, 2009

The Badgers-Gophers game on the schedule is extra special for certain players. There are always Wisconsin players on Minnesota's roster and Minnesota players on Wisconsin's roster, and that turns players into ticket brokers.

The focus on the field Saturday will be x's and o's, but leading up to the game, geography also is playing a role.

"It's a great opportunity to play in front of the family and friends at the game and hopefully, I have a good game," said Badgers wide receiver Isaac Anderson, a junior from Minneapolis. "I had a good one last year."

Anderson caught six passes for 114 yards including the game winning touchdown last year at Camp Randall Stadium.

A history of great finishes, along with the new TCF Bank Stadium, is adding to the ticket conundrum. The new stadium has a capacity of just more than 50,000 -- that's about 15,000 seats fewer than the Gophers former home, the Metrodome.

"I had like 25 tickets my freshman year, but there are a lot more guys from Minnesota on the team now," said Bagers wide receiver David Gilreath, a junior from Minneapolis. "I think I only have like 15 or 16 or something like that".

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. Saturday.
