Pittsburgh, PA -- (Sports Network) - Prince Fielder had two hits and drove in two, while Braden Looper tossed seven shutout innings, as the Milwaukee Brewers took a 2-0 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.Looper (9-4) limited the Pirates to four hits, walked three and struck out one for the Brewers, who had lost the opener of this three-game series Monday -- which snapped a 17-game winning streak against the Pirates. "It was tough today. He had a good sinker, was throwing it in and out of the plate, hitting his spots well. Just switching up his pitches," Pirates outfielder Garrett Jones said of Looper. "You couldn't really square them up too good. Topping a lot of balls, lot of ground balls. He did well tonight." Craig Counsell finished with three hits and scored twice for the Brewers, who ended a two-game slide overall. Virgil Vasquez (1-4) made the start for Pittsburgh and took the loss after giving up two runs on nine hits in 6 2/3 frames. Vasquez did not walk a batter and fanned four. Adam LaRoche and Delwyn Young each doubled for the Pirates, who had won three of their last four. "You have four hits, you're not going to win too many games," Pirates manager John Russell said of his team's offensive output. "We were fortunate to keep it at 2-0. Our pitching staff did a nice job of keeping us in the game." The Brewers cracked the scoreboard in the fifth inning. Felipe Lopez hit a one-out single and went to third on Counsell's double. Ryan Braun then hit a ball to third, leading to Lopez being tagged out at the plate, but Fielder followed with a single to plate Counsell. Then, in the seventh, Counsell and Braun hit consecutive two-out singles. After John Grabow came in to replace Vasquez, Fielder lined a single to right that again plated Counsell, making it a 2-0 Milwaukee lead. Mark DiFelice and Mitch Stetter combined to throw a scoreless bottom of the eighth, while Trevor Hoffman pitched a perfect ninth for his 22nd save this season.
