Brewers' Weeks To Have Wrist Examined

Posted: 8:19 pm CDT May 17,2009

(Sports Network) - Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks left Sunday's 8-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the first inning with a sore left wrist.

Weeks exited the contest after striking out during his first at-bat on Sunday. He will travel to Phoenix on Monday to have Dr. Don Sheridan look at the injury.

Weeks missed the last two months of the 2006 season due to a right wrist injury. Sheridan performed surgery on Weeks' right wrist that year to repair a tendon injury.

In 36 games this season, Weeks is batting .274 with 28 runs scored, 24 runs batted in and nine home runs.

Bill Hall replaced Weeks in the leadoff slot on Sunday and played third base. Craig Counsell moved from third to second base.
