Bears Add OT Pace

Posted: 6:01 pm CDT April 2,2009

(Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears, in addition to finding a new starting quarterback in Jay Cutler on Thursday, added seven-time Pro Bowl selection Orlando Pace to the offensive line.

Pace agreed to terms on a three-year contract, but financial terms were not disclosed.

The first overall pick of the 1997 NFL draft out of Ohio State, Pace started 154-of-158 career games played with the Rams over the past 12 seasons. He also started 10 career postseason games, including a Super Bowl victory after the 1999 season.

In 2008, Pace started the Rams' first 14 games before suffering an injury that ended his season. The 6-foot-7, 325-pounder had played in only nine total games in 2006 and '07 due to injury.
