(Sports Network) - Milwaukee Bucks sharpshooter Michael Redd will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a pair of torn knee ligaments during Saturday's game against Sacramento.

Redd was hurt with 2:33 left in the third quarter of Milwaukee's 106-104 win and an MRI exam on Sunday revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament as well as a torn medial collateral ligament in the left knee.

Surgery will be scheduled at a later date.

"I'm deeply disappointed but everything in life happens for a reason and this is God's plan for me," said Redd in a statement. "I have faith in my teammates and coaches to continue to work together to make our fans proud. I will be supporting them wholeheartedly from the sidelines and working equally hard to return to the court in the best condition possible for next season."

Redd was averaging a team-best 21.2 points with 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33 games this season.
