Kings' Road Woes Continue In Chicago

Chicago, IL -- (Sports Network) - Ben Gordon scored a team-high 24 points and Drew Gooden added 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, as Chicago downed Sacramento, 99-94 at the United Center.Derrick Rose littered the scorebook with 16 points, eight assists and three rebounds, while Tyrus Thomas added 14 points, six boards and three steals. Larry Hughes donated 10 points off the bench for the Bulls, who put their three-game losing streak to bed. Kevin Martin led all scorers with 29 points, Brad Miller registered a double- double with 18 points and 12 rebounds and John Salmons donated 12 points for the Kings, who lost their 12th road game in a row and for the 10th time in 11 games overall. The Kings held a 23-22 advantage after one period only to go cold in the second stanza. Sacramento held a 31-24 lead before the Bulls scored 12 of the next 14 points capped by Thomas' slam for a 36-33 lead. Rose's driving layup just before halftime pushed Chicago to a 49-42 lead. The Bulls held a 75-67 lead after three periods, but Sacramento made it interesting in the fourth quarter. Thabo Sefolosha's layup gave Chicago an 82-67 edge early in the final 12 minutes, before the Kings battled back. Three straight free throws from Martin with just over five minutes to go brought the Kings within 86-83, and Martin's layup with 2:16 on the clock again cut the deficit to three points at 90-87. Garcia's layup moments later made the score 90-89, but the Bulls answered back with two Gordon free throws and one shot from the charity stripe by Hughes. Martin and Rose exchanged buckets and then Martin made a pair of free throws for a 95-93 game with 21 seconds to play. Chicago's lead stood at 97-94 when Martin missed a running layup with seven ticks to play, cementing the Bulls' victory. Game Notes Chicago made only 2-of-11 three-pointers, but connected on 33-of-36 from the foul line..The Bulls grabbed 17 offensive rebounds to just five offensive boards for the Kings...Chicago was again without the services of guard Kirk Hinrich (thumb) and forward Luol Deng (ankle).
