Packer Fans Rally Behind Favre
Fans Hold Rally Outside Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- More than 100 people rallied outside Lambeau Field Sunday to pressure the Green Bay Packers into reinstating Brett Favre as starting quarterback.
TALKBACK:What Do You Think?The crowd -- many wearing No. 4 jerseys -- chanted, "We want Brett" and carried signs reading, "Favre for President."Adam and Erick Rolfson organized the rally. The two Milwaukee-area brothers said they planned the rally when they heard the team wasn't eager to have Favre return as the starter.They said they plan to hold another rally Monday night in the Milwaukee area and then every Sunday until the team reinstates Favre.They have started a Web site, www.bringbackbrettfavre.com, where fans can vote on what the Packers should do.Adam and Erick Rolfson said they want the team to know Favre has earned the right to keep his starting position.The team has said Favre could rejoin the team in a "different role" but said it's committed to going with Aaron Rodgers as its starter.General Manager Ted Thompson said Favre can rejoin the team from retirement but would have to be a backup.Favre wants an unconditional release from his contract, something Thompson said he won't allow.Favre retired in March, but has changed his mind. He asked for his release because the Packers didn't seem receptive to having him play again.
