Officials Warn Fans Of Packers Ticket Scam

LambeauTickets.com Forced To Pay Refunds

Wisconsin Consumer Protection officials are warning Green Bay Packers fans to watch out for ticket scams.

Last December, Esther Miller, of Marshfield, hoped to see one of Brett Favre's final games. She paid $2,600 for 16 tickets to the Christmas Eve matchup, only to learn at game time that the seller canceled the tickets.

"We got an e-mail from him saying that my card was a fraud risk, which was very devastating and put a huge damper on Christmas," Miller said.

Officials said the owner of LambeauTickets.com kept Miller's money. Wisconsin Consumer Protection on Wednesday put a stop to the ticket selling Web site.

Wisconsin Consumer Protection said the Web site can no longer use the name LambeauTickets.com and that it had to refund customers close to $15,000.

But the owner can still sell tickets under a different name, WISC-TV reported.
