Green Bay Mayor Considers 'Brett Favre Boulevard'

Favre Announced His Retirement

Updated: 2:12 pm CDT April 9, 2008

Another Lambeau Field legend could be immortalized in Titletown.

Green Bay residents already have Lombardi Avenue and Mike Holmgren Way, and there's a short "Brett Favre Pass" in Ashwaubenon, but now Green Bay is looking for a big way to honor retired quarterback Favre that could include turning Ashland Avenue into Brett Favre Boulevard, WISC-TV reported.

"I'd like to see a major corridor named Brett Favre Boulevard. Something that connects off the interstate and goes through the stadium district and connects to the downtown," said Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt.

The mayor made the announcement Monday night.

Officials said that they're waiting for Favre to fill out his retirement papers and send them to the league office, WISC-TV reported.
