GREEN BAY, Wis. -- One of the biggest games in Green Bay Packer history also promises to be one of the coldest.Less than 24 hours before kickoff, WISC-TV's Marc Lovicott talked to fans planning to attend the game about how they are going to try to stay warm. If that's possible.Lovicott found that if there's one thing that Packers fans and visiting Giants fans can agree on, it's that it's going to be a rough night on the frozen tundra.Tricia Munson, a Giant supporter from Riverside, Calif., plans to tackle the weather with layers: "Like the Under Armour type of long underwear and camisoles, and then three shirts and then a sweater vest and then a sweatshirt, and then my giants jacket."Still others look to bring the heat, like Packer fan Bill Noakes from Boca Raton, Fla.: "'I've got several layers, and I've got 40 heat packs that I'm going to have lined all over me."Munson also plans to pack heat, adding, "Oh, and those things that you put in your toes and in your hands to keep them warm." As if pricey tickets weren't enough, Munson said, "I spent a fortune on clothing just to get here."Adam Lawler, a Wisconsin native relocated to San Diego, hopes his choice of beverage will help: "We got those warmers, those hand warmers. And maybe some alcohol or something to keep the cold out."Lawler's excited about being back in Wisconsin for the game, even if his girlfriend isn't: "I'm from Wisconsin, I'm a die hard Packers fan. I represent them out there. There's a Packers bar out in San Diego that me and my girlfriend go to all the time." When Lovicott noted that Lawler's girlfriend seemed cold, Lawler responded, "Yeah, she's never been here before. She's hardly ever been out of California."As they anticipate the cold, many fans seemed more concerned about their team surviving not only the elements, but the game itself and advancing to the Super Bowl.Jim Maurer, a Packer fan from Riverside, Calif., said: "I love it. It's perfect NFC Championship weather. Reminds me of the Carolina game 10 years ago. We're going to do it again. All the way to the Super Bowl."The hand warmers that many fans commented on are in high demand but thanks to a corporate donation, they won't be hard to find come game time. Mills Fleet Farm donated 30,000 hand warmers to the Green Bay Packers, and they will be distributed to fans as they enter the gate for Sunday's game.
