When Michael Vick left the podium last week after apologizing for his actions related to dogfighting, the suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback apparently left something behind.

According to an ad on eBay, Vick left his notes from his apology at the podium of the Omni Hotel in Richmond, Va. The piece of paper was found by an employee of the Humane Society of the U.S., and now the organization is auctioning off the document to raise money for its efforts to end dogfighting and animal cruelty.

Bidding on the notes -- which are handwritten on a piece of paper from the Omni Hotel -- opened at $20. More than 70 people bid on the item, raising the current total to more than $10,000. Bidding closes Sept. 14.

According to the eBay ad, Vick allegedly used the following notes to remember key points while making his public apology:

"Apologize for what I've done
Apologize comissioner (sic), AB [Falcons owner Arthur Blank], [Bobby] Petrino, ashamed, dissapointed (sic)
Young kids I acted immat.
Forgiveness + understanding
Take full responsibility for my actions
We all make mistakes
I've made mistakes in judgment"

Then, jotted into the lower right-hand corner of the paper it says, "Dogs have suffered."

Vick pleaded guilty Aug. 27 to a federal dogfighting charge. The quarterback, who could face prison time, will be sentenced Dec. 10.
