Alvarez Statue Unveiled At Camp Randall

MADISON, Wis. -- On the evening of the University of Wisconsin's Homecoming parade, a special honor was unveiled for UW Athletic Director Barry Alvarez.At about 5 p.m. on Friday, a statute of Alvarez was unveiled outside the Camp Randall ticket office.Alvarez was the longtime football coach who guided the Badgers to three Rose Bowl Championships and three Big 10 titles.He replaced Pat Richter as athletic director when he retired in April 2004.By the end of the football season, a Richter statue will stand next to the statue of Alvarez.
