Hoops Add Former Dutch International Sikora, Cunningham

Frisco, TX -- (Sports Network) - FC Dallas General Manager Michael Hitchcock announced on Friday that the team has acquired former Netherlands international Victor Sikora and Major League Soccer forward Jeff Cunningham, in separate transactions.Cunningham was acquired from Toronto FC in exchange for a third round pick in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft while Sikora was signed as a free agent. Sikora began his career in 1994 with Dutch top-flight club Go Ahead Eagles, playing two seasons in the Eredivisie before the club moved to the First Division. The 30-year-old midfielder has also played for Vitesse Arnhem, Ajax Amsterdam, SC Herenveen, and the last three seasons with NAC Breda, all of the Dutch Eredivisie. Cunningham joins FCD as the fourth leading goal-scorer in league history with 99 career regular season goals. He began his professional career in 1998 with the Columbus Crew, was traded to the Colorado Rapids in 2005. In 2006 as a member of real Salt Lake Cunningham then led the league with 16 goals before being traded to Toronto the next season.
