Kimmi had little chance. She continued to clash with fellow Kucha members throughout the episode and was ousted unanimously. In a post-ousting interview, she admitted that it was not a surprise, and accepted the outcome with good humor.

Again, Kimmi's devout vegetarianism sealed her fate. Kimmi befriended the tribe's chickens and irritated her tribemates with her dramatic displays of sympathy for the animals, which were to be butchered. When she tried to lobby to get them butchered at slower rate, 32-year-old personal trainer Alicia was sparked to anger. The two were quickly locked in a vehement argument.

Also cited as reason for Kimmi's banishment were her relative lack of physical strength and her hygiene. Disgusted by the water available in the nearby river, Kimmi bathed sparingly, which annoyed her tribemates.

The confrontation was apparently a predictable one, as Kimmi and Alicia have a longstanding personality clash. Alicia was the only other apparent candidate for banishment, and her dominant, take-charge attitude became manifest in the episode. Twenty-three-year-old footwear designer Elisabeth admitted, "Alicia is in charge of telling people what to do, as well as trash-talking."

Kimmi was ousted after the Kucha tribe lost the immunity challenge. The challenge involved traversing the maze as a team, while collecting a set of five medallions in order. After three straight immunity challenge losses, the Ogakor tribe solve the maze more quickly and averted another ousting.

Reward Challenge

Morale on the Ogakor was at an all-time low going into the immunity challenge. Earlier in the episode, the tribe lost the reward challenge, which gave much-needed toiletries to the winner.

The challenge involved constructing a "travois," a rudimentary stretcher used for transporting the sick and infirm. Then the tribes had to race to transport three tribemates via travois from various parts of a river to a finish line. The Kucha tribe, able to leave Kimmi and 53-year-old teacher Rodger out of the race due to the size of the tribe, accomplished the feat first.

Throughout the episode, the Ogakor continued their fractured, divisive ways. After the previous immunity challenge, in which 23-year-old singer-songwriter Mitchell received a surprise banishment, his former ally, 30-year-old aspiring actress Jerri, seemed humbled. The race was on to win the allegiance of the swing voter, 26-year-old auto designer Colby.
