Lance Armstrong Visits Madison Sunday
Some Streets Closed For 'Ride The Drive'

MADISON, Wis. -- Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong is visiting Madison on Sunday.

He's participating in the city's third "Ride the Drive," a community event that closes some roads to vehicle traffic, allowing participants to bike, skate or walk through some of Madison's signature streets.Armstrong will lead the opening ride of the course to the public. Trek is also sponsoring the event.Bicyclists on the 6-mile loop will head down State Street before traveling down John Nolen Drive and East Washington Avenue.Officials expect as many as 30,000 to 40,000 bikers. There's a similar event June 6.Streets along the route will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.For more information as well as a full map with detours and places to cross through the route, people can visit www.cityofmadison.com/ridethedrive.
