DNR Says CWD Levels Rise In Deer Population
175 Deer Tested Positive In 2009

MADISON, Wis. -- State Department of Natural Resources officials said that new numbers show chronic wasting disease, or CWD, levels continue to rise among Wisconsin's deer population.DNR officials sampled more than 7,100 deer in 2009 and about 175 tested positive, they said.Deer tested in an area that covers parts of Dane and Iowa counties showed rising CWD rates in all ages and genders of deer.Stay tuned to WISC-TV and Channel 3000 for continuing coverage.
