Commission Approves Completion Of Badger Trail

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Building Commission has approved the completion of the Badger Trail stretching from Madison to Illinois.It will now connect the Southwest and Capital City trails in Madison and Fitchburg to the recently constructed Badger Trail.Officials said it should alleviate some of the issues for cyclists and motor vehicles on Seminole Highway.It's estimated that about 250,000 people each year will use the trail."It will be a significant connection from Fitchburg to Madison," said Amanda White, with the Bike Federation. "But really the entire trail will go all the way from Madison to Freeport, Ill."Completion of the 6-mile asphalt stretch will cost about $500,000.
