MADISON, Wis. -- Monday, former state administrator Georgia Thompson goes on trial for her involvement in the Adelman contract scandal. The trial will focus on ethics in government.Thompson faces fraud charges for allegedly steering a travel contract to Adelman Travel.Adelman's CEO donated $10,000 to Gov. Jim Doyle's re-election campaign, and another Adelman board member also donated $10,000.Observers say the trial could shine a light on the role political connections can play for companies seeking state work.Thompson faces 20 years in prison.
