Green Seeks Pledge For Clean Campaign
GOP Rival Left Race On Friday

WEST ALLIS, Wis. -- Congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Green appeared with former primary opponent Scott Walker on Monday in West Allis.Green is the GOP's choice to battle incumbent Democrat Jim Doyle.Green wants Doyle to sign a "clean campaign" pledge and limit campaign spending to just over $5.5 million, which is $1 for every man, woman and child living in Wisconsin.Green said that he's sent a letter to the governor to discuss abiding to the campaign pledge.However, Doyle's campaign spokeswoman said that he won't sign the pledge.Spokeswoman Melanie Fonder said it was disingenuous for Green to offer to run a clean campaign even as he was attacking the governor's record.Walker left the governor's race on Friday night.He again reiterated he had no pressure to drop out of the race for governor.
