Tomah Mayor Seeks State Senate Seat
Former Governor's Brother Ran For Governor In 2002

TOMAH, Wis. -- Ed Thompson said he won't seek re-election as Tomah mayor and will instead concentrate on running for a state Senate seat.Thompson said he has a "tough fight" ahead to unseat Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, a Democrat from Alma, in District 31.Thompson is running as a Republican. He ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor in 2002 as a Libertarian. He's the brother of former Gov. Tommy Thompson.
