State Lawmaker Pleads Not Guilty In Driving Case
Wood Arrested Last Month

MADISON, Wis. -- A judge has entered not guilty pleas for a state lawmaker in his latest driving under the influence case.State Rep. Jeff Wood had an initial appearance in Monroe County on Tuesday morning. District Attorney Dan Cary said Wood didn't appear, but his attorney, Tracey Wood, attended the proceeding by phone.Court officials say when asked for his pleas, Tracey Wood said he stood mute. Circuit Judge Michael McAlpine entered not guilty pleas for him.Tracey Wood, who isn't related to Jeff Wood, confirmed the pleas.Jeff Wood, a Chippewa Falls independent, was arrested in Tomah last month. He has been arrested three times in the last year for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
