Palin Speaks In Milwaukee Suburb

Palin Spoke About Abortion Issues

Updated: 9:56 am CST November 7,2009

Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told about 5,000 supporters in Wisconsin to continue to press lawmakers on abortion issues Friday.

Wisconsin Right to Life officials said Palin's low-profile stop in the Milwaukee suburb of West Allis on Friday night was more than a year in the making.

Palin told the crowd they "went rogue" -- a reference to her upcoming memoirs -- with their support of the cause.

She didn't mention President Barack Obama by name in her 25-minute speech, but briefly touched on health care reform legislation and pressed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to make sure all voices were heard on the issue.

Organizers said media wouldn't be allowed to cover the event and no cell phones or cameras would be allowed inside. General admission tickets were $30.

The former Alaska governor's stop came 11 days before "Going Rogue" is released. The book is already a national best seller based on pre-sales.
