Updated: 7:01 am CDT October 22,2008

Less than two weeks before the election, a new poll shows Barack Obama with a 13-point lead over John McCain in Wisconsin.

The St. Norbert College Survey Center telephone poll was conducted between Oct. 9 and Oct. 17. It is the fifth poll this month to show Obama with a double-digit lead in Wisconsin.

The Republican National Committee has pulled money from TV ads for McCain in the state, and the McCain campaign is cutting its ads.

The poll of 400 people showed Obama with 51 percent compared with 38 percent for McCain. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Sixty-one percent of respondent said that the economy is the most important issue in the election and 55 percent said Obama is better suited to handle it.
