Poll: Obama's Lead Widens Over McCain In Wis.
Quinnipiac University Poll Released Tuesday

MADISON, Wis. -- A new poll showed Barack Obama has widened his lead over John McCain in Wisconsin following last week's debate.The Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday showed that Obama was leading McCain 51 percent to 43 percent before the debate. Another poll taken after the debate shows Obama's lead has grown to 54 percent. McCain drops to 37 percent.That 17-point margin is the largest lead ever recorded in this election cycle for Obama in Wisconsin.Obama is also ahead in three other states where Quinnipiac polled, including Minnesota, Colorado and Michigan.The polls were done between Oct. 3 and Oct. 7. The pre-debate poll in Wisconsin had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. The post-debate poll's margin of error was 2.8 percentage points.
