One-fourth of Wisconsin voters said in a new poll that the upcoming presidential debates might change who they support.

The Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday shows that 25 percent said they are very or somewhat likely to change their mind after the debates. The first debate is Friday night.

Of those, the risk is about the same for both Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.

Twenty-two percent of Obama supporters said they might change their minds after the debate. Twenty-four percent of McCain backers said the same thing.

Overall, Obama led by McCain by 7 percentage points in the poll of 1,313 likely voters conducted Sept. 14 to 21. There was a 2.7 percent margin of error.

The first debate is set for Friday night but McCain announced on Wednesday that he is suspending his campaign and wants to postpone the debate so he can return to Washington to help deal with the economic crisis.
