Governor Appoints 2 To Ethics Board

Doyle Announces Appointments Thursday

Posted: 5:24 pm CDT May 8, 2008

Gov. Jim Doyle has appointed two new members to the state board in charge of rooting out government corruption and enforcing election, campaign finance and ethics laws.

Doyle announced Thursday that he is appointing Victor Manian, a former Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge who retired in 2004 and currently works as a reserve judge.

Doyle also is appointing Gordon Myse, a former Outagamie County Circuit Court judge who served on the 3rd District Court of Appeals until 1999. Myse currently is a reserve judge in Outagamie County.

The openings on the Government Accountability Board were created after two members quit following an attorney general's opinion that said their appointments were invalid because their judicial terms hadn't expired yet.
